The Daaba Medical Centre Sponsorship Program

The Watson Association exists to make life better, for others.

Since 2001, The Watson Association has been providing support and giving hope through international aid to those most in need.

An immediate and critical need for a medical facility has recently been identified in the country of Ghana, West Africa. The Watson Association wants to, with your help, meet this need.

The rise of childhood mortality has become a major challenge in Ghana. Statistics from the WHO and Ghana Health Services indicate that most children die from preventable causes, such as malaria, infections and diarrhoea. Every year, 80,000 children do not live to celebrate their 5th birthday, and more children die needlessly every day.

The Watson Association wishes to become part of the solution, with our latest project, the construction of the Daaba Medical Centre.

Having been a dream for 5 years, the project is now on the way to becoming a reality. Land is cleared, foundations dug and walls built! Every day the precious people of the Daaba region of Ghana come close to having a medical facility, with an estimated completion date of late 2010.

Upon completion, The Watson Association will gift the medical facility to the nation, and the Ghanaian Ministry of Health will officially staff and administrate the centre.

WHY WE NEED YOU

We have raised approximately $140,000 USD to date, however a further $80,000 USD is required to see the Daaba Medical Centre through to completion. An incredibly unique opportunity exists for you or your company to partner with us. By making a donation of $1000.00 or more, a personalised plaque with your logo or family name will be created, acknowledging your support of the centre. These plaques will be mounted on a special "Celebration Wall" inside the Daaba Medical Centre as a permanent feature and showcase of your generosity.
